Last Sunday I attended a Sugar Flower-making class at the Sugar Flower Cake Shop in Manhattan. It was so much fun but challenging at the same time. Amy, our instructor and the owner of this shop was very sweet and patient, she has an acute resemblance (but a much more genuine personality) to Kelly Ripa too. Anyway, we were making sugar roses last sunday, and some of my roses may have needed more time but because the class is only two hours long (for a four-day making process) that was not possible. Regardless, Amy and her assistants made the class dynamic and fun and taught the different phases of the flower making clearly. This is how my roses ended up:
Some of my petals lost their shape to the heat that day and my amateur hands (for my own sake I have to admit I didn't make the pink one, I just painted it, that is how it is supposed to look :p)
My cat also happened to appear on the pic because she kept wanting to smell the roses.
