Here's another one I posted while in college. It's about the concept of waiting and the actions people take:
Monday May 16 2011- CERRU's closing event of the year
"Today I heard Dr. Iman Bibars talk about the revolution in Egypt and how it was the WAITING generation who made it happen. The young generation waiting to find jobs, waiting to attend university, waiting to be heard, waiting for an opportunity, waiting for change. I too feel like I belong to that waiting generation.I too am waiting for this administration to pass the Dream Act, waiting for my own opportunities, and most of all, waiting for more people to join this fight and make the Dream Act a reality. She ended her speech saying that "change is inevitable" it might be this year, next year or even six years from now, but what matters is that you don't conform. Conforming just means you don't care and you are weak. I don't conform to the stereotypes against me and the policies currently affecting me and that is why I talk and I write and I speak as often as I can about the Dream Act. It is the waiting for things to happen that inspires people to Do Something about it, because sooner or later we eventually get tired."
