Yes it was 4th of July yesterday, and yes, I spent the day in the Multi-diverse Flushing Meadows Corona Park, in Queens, bbq-ing, playing volleyball, playing domino, talking about El Camino de Santiago with someone who just came back from finishing it, and just chilling with friends and family.
I spent it mostly admiring the diversity of people around me a Tibetan family on one side, a Mexican family on the other, a Peruvian family nearby, and us Venezuelans sharing with Dominicans, Americans, etc. I am probably amazed at the diversity yesterday because I recently read a New Yorker article "Every Disease on Earth" on what is probably the most diverse, chaotic, cosmopolitan, place in the world: Elmhurst.

AND I also want to commemorate my country's Independence Day today, though I'm not bbq-ing and sweating out there like yesterday, I still remember. I'm far from the motherland, but it's always in my heart.
