Today i met two cool couples ( alittle uppity but whatever) from Israel. They spoke from what i could tell spanish (very well) hebrew (obviously) english (very well) and im pretty sure arabic. Their accent in spanish was so strinkingly similar to my grandma's accent in spanish even though my grandma speaks arabic and they speak hebrew. phonetically, people from that region of the middle east sound similar! (and it makes sense) and its not only linguistically, but what about food? they have so many dishes in common! and music? even their religions have a common history. Israelis and arabs have so much in common and yet they still fight. Though i believe Palestinians need their respect, identity and space (lol so american), Israelis have established themselves there. And yes, Israelis need to listen more, and so do Arabs because both sides have extremists and it gets very confusing in the middle till nobody knows what is really going on.
just thought i mention it.
and seriously, United States, this islamophobia state is depressing me, when are we gonna act like the mature adults we seem to constantly profess?
