Last week I had the wonderful chance to attend the concert of Carlos Vives in New Jersey. Amazing, positive and spiritual musician, very much connected to his Guajiro roots. His style is a little bit of Cumbia, Pop, Vallenato, and Rock all thrown together.
His concert was also opened by Jorge Celedon and Silvestre, Big vallenato names back in Colombia. So much dancing and being in the moment. It was a magical night shared with beautiful, happy people. My favorite part of the night was when Carlos Vives asked the audience to use their phones for his next song, as "candle lights" and the whole stadium then looked like a night sky with bright, white stars all over. It was beautiful.
Of course, me being a Vzlan groupy, I brought my flag and waved it proudly towards the stage to represent. I managed to get a shout out to Venezuelan from each of the Musicians who performed which made me very proud.
Here's a sample of Carlos Vives singing "La Tierra del Olvido" while sharing the stage with Gregorio Uribe a talented Colombian musician residing in New York.
Since Blogger has decided to act funny on me, I can't post the video but I will paste the link HERE for you to watch on youtube! enjoy!

There was a battle of Acordeónes going on the stage when this
song was playing.
