NYC Entertainment- Early Fall Guide 2013

I have a couple of places I've recently attended in NYC that I will share with you, theatre and nightlife included.

One of them is a nice cozy bar I attended last month because a Colombian singer and accordion player was performing there that night.
I went for a night of Latin rhythms including cumbia and some salsa, vallenato and merengue.
The name of the place is Zinc Bar.
And the musician is Gregorio Uribe who always performs there the first Thursday (cover:yes!) of every month. If you like dancing until you are sweating,  not paying a fortune for drinks and hanging out with the yippie NYU crowd then that's your place.  Actually the whole area is for you.

If you love dancing salsa like I do, especially ballroom, meeting people from all over the world, or just watching people dance (its true!) check out these cool places in NYC where Salsa becomes an international assembly of sabor and cultura. Social dancing at its best.

Iguana Restaurant Bar and Nightclub (Fri, Sat) Cover: yes!

*Don Coqui, Astoria (thu, fri, sat, sun)- No cover!

*Taj Lounge (Monday Salsa nights) (cover: $12)

Latin Quarters, Midtown (Salsa wed [no cover], thu, fri, sat, sun cover varies)

Club Cache, Midtown (yes, cover!) Bachata, some salsa and merengue

If you're into theatre like I am, check out Atlantic Theatre Company's 13-14 season featuring new works by Stephen Adly Guirgis (Between Riverside and Crazy) premiering May 2014 and Ethan Coen (Women or Nothing) opening this October.

If you want to dance like there is no tomorrow,  then you have to check out The Ritz  Nightclub (No COVER!!) Enough Said. One of the best clubs I have ever been to in NYC. Music playes includes a mix of mainstream and indie pop, 80s and 90s, hip-hop and R&B.

That's enough for this early Fall Guide to entertain you for the next month and a half.
